Mission Board on Healthy Oceans, Seas, Coasts, and Inland Waters

This forward-looking support project contributed to the EU Mission on Oceans by exploring the future of marine and freshwater systems. The work served as the basis for the Mission Board's recommendations on restoring the health of the oceans and advancing a sustainable blue economy.

Stories from 2050: radical and forward-looking images of sustainability

This project developed imaginative scenarios to explore the opportunities and challenges of sustainability in Europe in 2050. It provided radical narratives to inspire policy-making, public debate, and youth engagement. The results have been widely used by the European Commission to stimulate long-term thinking.

Urban mobility 2050: prospective analysis for sustainable transportation

This prospective analysis project examined disruptive trends in transport systems across Europe. It assessed the implications for emissions reduction,
urban planning, and social inclusion. The results informed EU agencies and municipalities about the future of sustainable mobility.

Policy communication and dialogue

We build bridges between research and decision-making by translating complex findings into clear messages, interactive platforms, and policy briefs. Our hybrid approach combines digital tools with in-person engagement to amplify impact. Our projects integrate both online and in-person activities. With a customizable CMS, we create interactive platforms for stakeholders and repositories that enable real-time collaboration, dialogue, and knowledge sharing. We analyze social media and design targeted campaigns for greater awareness and action.

The future of science for policy in Europe

This study explored how science-for-policy ecosystems in Europe could evolve between now and 2030 through five alternative scenarios. The results served as a basis for European discussions on strengthening scientific advice for democratic governance and sustainable transitions.

Unleashing innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe

This project assessed how Europe can strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems for sustainable growth. Circular economy principles were integrated into the recommendations. The results were widely communicated to policymakers and stakeholders across Europe, including a session at the European Parliament.

Digital platform for forecasting personal health systems

This project explored the long-term development of personal health systems and their role in transforming healthcare delivery in Europe. Our experts developed a digital platform to create an international online community and collaborate with policymakers.

Action in the ecosystem and capacity building

We encourage collaboration between various stakeholders, from businesses and policymakers to young people and citizens. Our methods include co-creation, citizen science, and participatory approaches that enhance innovation capacity and strengthen ecosystems.

Specific RIS3 support for industrial transitions

This work helped lagging regions in Europe develop research and innovation strategies for smart specialization (RIS3). Multi-stakeholder engagement processes were used to jointly design strategies for industrial transition. Local capacity was built to align innovation with sustainability goals.

Regional perspective for water innovation in Antofagasta

- Governments of Chile and Finland
This project focused on developing a long-term water innovation strategy for the Antofagasta region, a mining hub in northern Chile. The results helped regional authorities align industrial development with sustainability and knowledge-based growth.

Business innovation ecosystems in Montenegro

This working group helped Montenegro strengthen its business and innovation ecosystems. Multi-stakeholder participation processes were facilitated to identify barriers and opportunities. The project developed local capacity for sustainable, knowledge-based growth.
